This object is 150 years old and comes from a polder mill from Meetkerke. The piece sat on the end of a shaft that turned into bluestone. The pleated metal bands kept the piece from chipping. The shaft with this special piece was essential to move the water from a lower to a higher level via wind energy.
This is a distinctive masterpiece of wrought iron and brushed oak, a marriage of nature and craft.
Can be used as a side table or a seat.
